Meet Our Senior Team

Charlotte Potter

Registered Care Manager

Before working in care, my career spanned diverse industry sectors providing management, accounting, administrative and technical services. Now a registered manager with CQC for older people’s services, I first worked in care as commercial manager for Learning Disability Services some 13 years ago. I then found my passion and career ‘home’ when I took a role as care manager in a home for older people. Since then I have managed residential and nursing homes for older people living with and without dementia and love the different challenges that every day brings. I believe that supporting our staff is key to enabling our residents to live fulfilled and happy lives, and my passion is creating a home that becomes a community where families and friends are welcomed – a place people call ‘home’, that feels like ‘home’.

Ian Kimberley

Director and Nominated Individual

In my initial career I spent 18 years managing a variety of country house hotels. In 1996 I decided on a change and went to work as one of the first non-nurse registered managers of a care home. I continued to run that and subsequently two other homes for six years.

In 2002 a colleague and I set up Care Home Management and we now operate a variety of homes across the country, including Park View, which is one of Gloucestershire’s newest and most technically-advanced homes offering a wide variety of care and services.

In my role as the operator of the home I will support, enable, guide and help the management and staff deliver exceptional care for all the residents in a safe, well-run and homely environment, aiming to make Park View amongst the best in the South West.

Paul Markey BA (Hons) FCA

I qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1985 after which time I transferred to South Africa, where I spent a further three years in the profession.

In 1989 I decided to put the experience I had gained into practice, by joining the family business. Alongside my brother Tony, we set about successfully expanding the Markey Group into manufacturing, land development, student property and now health care.

We believe the success of Park View will be founded on the family values that we hold central to all our business.  The three core strands to our values are, respecting each other, supporting one another and making a difference to individual’s lives, we hope that you and your families experience these values at Park View.

Tony Markey MCIOB

Having researched and studied the care industry for some time and after experiencing care homes first hand with our father, Paul and I felt we could create an environment for residents and families to feel safe and comfortable in - a home from home with excellent staff.

A caring, comfortable environment will help to promote dignity and provide as much ‘normality’ as possible. We want family members to feel very welcome at Park View and 100 per cent confident that their loved ones are in the best possible hands.  A caring environment is ultimately achieved through caring people, we value all our staff no matter what their role and equip them to the highest possible standard, thus ensuring a high-quality care service.

Bill Mellstrom

Bill is a Chartered Surveyor and has been working in the commercial property market since the early 1990s, both as an advisor and as a principal, with a focus on investment and development.  Bill is passionate about the responsibility of the property industry to create buildings which are intelligently designed and enhance the built environment: buildings which are inspirational, attractive and operationally efficient.  Buildings which are innovative but will stand the test of time.

Bill said: “Park View is superbly located close to Gloucester Docks and provides an outstanding facility for specialist nursing care, in a location where there is considerable existing demand. Great care has been taken in the design of the building and now that we have a first class operational team in place I am 100 per cent confident that  Park View will be recognised as Gloucester’s leading specialist nursing facility and become a national benchmark for excellence in care."
